TitleA Force More Powerful: The Game of Nonviolent Strategy
NotesFrom the creators of the documentary series A Force More Powerful" comes a computer simulation game allowing players to wage nonviolent struggles for freedom and rights - against dictators, occupiers, authoritarians and oppressive rule. The player takes the role of strategist for a nonviolent movement in one of ten scenarios. The player assesses strengths and vulnerabilities, crafts strategy, and chooses tactics such as strikes, boycotts, and protest. Advanced players can create their own scenarios.

The game contains no secrets, no sure-fire recipes for winning. But through active immersion in simulated conflicts - in fictionalized but realistic settings - the game allows the player to learn the principles and techniques of nonviolent strategy.

RecommendationsMay take several hours to play through a scenario. Could be used in a retreat setting, or over a number of weeks. The Resource Centre also has the video series A Force More Powerful.
