The Mennonite Brethren in Christ Resource Centre
invites applications for the position of
Manager/Librarian
This position requires a person with a commitment to Christian faith, active church membership and non-violent peacemaking.
Responsibilities include: Previewing, purchasing, cataloguing and promoting print and audio-visual resources and managing the day to day operations of a library resource centre serving the Mennonite, Mennonite Brethren, Brethren in Christ congregations and Mennonite Central Committee constituency.
Qualifications include: General BA, with an MA in library science preferred. Computer and basic library cataloguing skills and an ability to work independently required. Previous experience in a library or resource centre setting would be an asset.
This position is 20 hours a week. Salary and benefits are consistent with Mennonite Central Committee guidelines and begins February, 2009. Application deadline: January 16, 2009.

Beginning January 1, 2009, the Resource Centre will be operating on a reduced service level while a new manager is being hired. Email and phone messages will still be monitored and replied to. You can still arrange to book items in advance. Items can still be checked out and returned. However, there will be no direct access to our collection, and no face-to-face personal service.
