| Notes | "If we just got rid of the liberals"; If we just got rid to the conservatives...," "then the rest of us could live in peace." Ahhh, words with a ring of familiarity. Many of us have heard these or similar expressions in churches we've known, maybe even in our own congregations.
CONFLICT IN THE CHURCH, a two-part video from Mennonite Conciliation Service (MCS), offers alternative ways of viewing the conflicts in our congregational lives.
Part 1, "Division or Diversity," (10 minutes) shows how conflict can be used to strengthen a body of believers through examples from scripture, church history, and contemporary situations. It offers constructive congregational conflict management skills.
Part 2, "Living with Conflict," (30 minutes) features three hypothetical congregations wrestling with process and power issues as they address a typical conflict.
