Making the Desert Bloom

TitleMaking the Desert Bloom
NotesIn remote western China, clean water, a terraced hillside, a healthy herd of livestock, a new school building, or a small business loan, represent the hope that someday this barren land will bloom in full. As China develops a market economy, the people of Ningxia and Gansu Provinces are struggling not to be left behind. This video shows lives changed in a poverty reduction project, a partnership between the Chinese and Canadian governments, MCC, the Chinese church-based Amity Foundation, and Mennonite Economic Development Associates. For grades 10 to adult.
