TitleSouth America Close-Up: Peru, Brazil
NotesPeru - Bette Tuso lives on the 13,000 foot high plain of the Andes Mountains of Peru. She introduces viewers to her village, her family, the animals she cares for and a weaving class taught by her mother. Bette takes you to her school and to her village fiesta where she dances for the first time.

Brazil - Lucivaldo Santos de Lima lives in the impoverished Northeast State of Paraiba, Brazil. His family is one of 160 families squatting on idle farmland. While the gap between Brazil's hungry and wealthy grows daily, two thirds of the land lies fallow. Lucivalo's parents action is calculated to force the government to move on its own land reform laws. We see the family's struggles and their hope to one day possess a land title and grow their own food.
